Knitter know how

This is something we all need to know, as I'm sure most of us
know unexpected mishaps happen more often than we even
want to think about, so keep calm and darn it!! No really...
Here is a great video on how to mend a hole in your knitted items.

I just used this method to fix a sock, I had a few more rows to do so
I actually kept crocheting the loops, making the new rows as I went,
and then grafted at the end, worked beautifully!

Good luck everyone and as always if you have questions find me on FB!

Crochet Flower Hat

Crochet Flower Hat.

Free pattern!

Find us on Facebook SoleyDesign

For this pattern I use Red Heart Shimmer yarn, and a size G/6 hook.

Start by making a CH 3, join in the first CH.
RND. 1. CH 2 (counts as first HDC), work 7 HDC in the circle just made. Join in the CH made at beginning of round. 8 ST.
RND. 2: CH 2. Now FPHDC the next stitch, HDC the next, cont. to the end of round. Join. 16.St.
RND. 3: CH 2. HDC in the same stitch to increase. FPHDC, then HDC in the same stitch to increase, then HDC the next stitch, cont. to end of RND. Join. 24. St.

You are making the FPHDC to make a rib appear that will run from the top of the hat down to the ears. Each round you will increase the number of stitches by 8, one after each FPHDC.

RND. 4: CH 2.  HDC in the same stitch to increase. FPHDC, then HDC in the same stitch to increase, then HDC the next 2 stitches, cont. to end of RND. Join.
RND. 5: CH 2. . HDC in the same stitch to increase. FPHDC, then HDC in the same stitch to increase, then HDC the next 3 stitches, cont. to end of RND. Join.
Continue this pattern of increasing one after each FPHDC until you’ve reached the size you are working on.
2-3 Yrs. 9 rounds of increase.
3-5 Yrs. 10 Rounds of increase.
5-7 Yrs. 11 rounds of increase.
8-10 Yrs. 12 rounds of increase.
Now you will work five rows of the same pattern, but you will no longer increase.
CH 2. FPHDC. HDC in each stitch of the previous row until you get to the next Front post, FPHDC. Continue to end of round. Join.
Once you‘ve made the five rounds, work one decrease row, DEC. 8 for sizes 2-5 and 10 for sizes7-10. Evenly spaced throughout the round.
Change color.
With color B work in a slip stitch in each HDC around. Join.
Now make a single crochet in that same HDC as before, creating a decorative row of SL.ST. (seen in the picture as where the white starts after the black) Join.

Change color.
With color C, SC in each previous SC around. Join.
Make six rows, (8 For the larger sizes)
Change color and with B slip stitch in each SC around. Join.
SC one row in color B.
Your hat is ready! Break off the end and finish up.

Flower

With color C. Ch 3. Join.
Make 5 SC in the circle you made. Join.
CH 3, SC in the next stitch, CH 3, SC in next, REP until you have 5 loops of CH 3 in this round.
In the loop, 1 SC, 3 HDC, 1 SC in each loop, makes 5, all around. Join.
CH 4, join with a slip stitch in the back of previos rows. Make 5 loops. Join.
With color B. 1 HDC, 3 DC, 1 HDC in each of the 5 loops. Join.
CH 4, join with a slip stitch in the back of previos rows. Make 5 loops. Join.

With color A. 1 HDC, 1 DC, 3 TR.C, 1 DC, 1 HDC in each of the 5 loops.

Leave a long tail and stitch the flower to your hat. I put the flower on the „seam“ where I‘ve joined the rounds, that way if it is uneven the flower will cover that.

I hope you had fun making this flower hat!
